Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 is a space battle game that was developed by Tindalos Interactive and published by Focus Home Interactive. It is a sequel to Battlefleet Gothic: Armada. In the game, you will invade (or consume) unique worlds, getting more resources. But, you will also face challenges.

Also important to note, is that you will need cash in-game to do various purchases like buying ships etc. Additionally, you will need some other things like shipyards for rebuilding your fleets in case they are damaged. This is a pretty simple proposal, I think that a ship that is enhanced with upgrades should cost more fleet points than one that isn't.

I was a strong opponent of the leveling system during the CTT, because I felt like it would create a more balanced and fair experience if you could build your fleet (upgrades and all) before a match using fleet points instead of renown. However, since the leveling feature is still in the game I have to assume that Tindalos has decided that this is an important part of their vision for the game, and I will waste no time kicking a dead horse.

On the contrary, since the beginning of the beta the leveling system has started to grow on me, and I feel like they have tweaked some of the upgrades to make them feel more meaningful and therefore offer more customization. However, the system is fundamentally imbalanced.
For example, say I am playing a 250 point cruiser clash game. I bring a lvl 4 Dominator cruiser with an Inquisitorial Favor, 100 extra hull points, 100 extra shield points, armor piercing rounds, micro warp jump, and plasma bombs. I also bring 2 Sword class frigates with 50 extra shield points, armor piercing rounds, and reduced engine emissions.

These fleets cost the same amount of points and yet my fleet is significantly stronger, potentially 40-50% stronger imo.

Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 Mods

I propose that we leave the leveling and the persistence 'as is', and simply have every upgrade applied to ships have a corresponding fleet point cost that is added to the total cost of the ship when it is brought in a game. This will not limit the player in any way, in fact it will allow the player more tactical and strategic options by making a 'no upgrades fleet' totally viable. The player will have to decide between quality and quantity. What's more is when the player loses one of the ships he/she has been pouring hundreds of renown points into it will feel more impact-full because there won't necessarily be another ship just waiting to replace it until it is repaired.
